Mother Nature

Mother earth was once so green. She herself is so healthy that 75 percent of her surface is land, and the other 15 is water. She created a barrier to keep us protected from the sun, sacrificing herself for our sake. She provided elements, so that we can live much better. She created lightning, to let us mankind learn about fire. She provided plants for us so that we would not starve. She provided animals, so that our life is filled with friends and excitement. She let us live, so that we can live our life to the fullest. The greatest mother of all time, mother earth.

Mother earth love us like every single one of us is a son of hers. But how did we repay? Did we provide her what she needs? Did we care for her? Did we try to cure her when she is sick? We took her for granted, but she just kept quiet. Her once strong skin of land, changed from 75 percent to 30 percent. She once keep the dinosaurs save, but for our sake, she sacrifice them. Every time she got a cold, and she shivers, we would blame her for not being strong. But never once think of ways to cure her. Her barrier that covers us was so strong. But we never cared, and still we on the air conditioners in our house. Further hurting her, breaking that barrier of hers. But still she tried to protect us. She withstand her sickness, and try her best not to shiver that cause an earthquake , not to bleed that red hot lava, not to sneeze and causes tornados, not to cry to flood the places around, not to get a fever so that the world won’t be dry, not to die so that the earth would still have lives. We know, but we never tried to help. She gave us a warning, on the 2004 tsunami Sumatra; she warned us that she is getting sick. And she needs help; she did not meant to hurt us. It came out because she could not control her tears, because she withstands that sickness for so long, that is why it came out unknowingly. It came again on 2011, when it struck Japan, twice. This means that she is getting worse. She needs us, she need our help.

40 of us did a project that helped mother on the same day at the same time.
We organized and participated in a camp that did not use plastic or polystyrene for 3 continuous days.
We paraded with recycled materials made costume around Penang.
We exchanged eco friendly bags for plastic bags with shopper at Parkson, Ipoh.
We introduced starch paper boxes to people so that we can use less polystyrene.
We pledge to go green for 4 years continuously.
We organised a project to let our next generation know the importance to going green.
We cannot make miracles, but we believe we can achieve wonders.
We are LEOs, and we believe we can make a difference!
